Anther and Filament of Stamen

Anther: The part of the flower which releases pollen, which is used to fertilize other plants.

Filament: the stalk supporting the Anther, used to extend the Anther farther into the wind, to increase the amount of wind the pollen will receive when released.

In the picture, the Filaments are the tubes extending from the middle of the flower, and the Anthers are the bulbs on the end of the Filaments.
