AP Bio Scavenger Hunt: Xylem

Trees have xylem rather than phloem as vascular tissue to transport water. Xylem cells transports water through the plant rather quickly. They also make up the support of the plant. Every year, a tree produces new xylem tissue; that is how the rings in a tree are formed.
