Pictures for August 10th

Hermaphrodite: A hermaphrodite is an animal that has both male and female reproductive organs. Worms have both sets of reproductive organs and are therefore hermaphrodites.
Cambium: The cambium in a plant's stem separates the xylem from the phloem.
Territorial Behaviour: This is my neighbour's dog exhibiting territorial behaviour. Whenever a stranger comes onto my neighbour's property, he barks and growls to display ownership of her house and yard.
Gymnosperm Cone. This pinecone is a gymnosperm cone. It contains the seed of a pine tree, encased in a shell to protect the seeds from being eaten.
Tropism: Tropism is the reaction of an organism to a stimuli. Squirrels exhibit tropism, especially when you yell at them.
