The Hot Zone part 4

It seems that in part 4 of this book you get to know the narrator a bit more(he seems more real!). It's cool how earlier parts of the book are referenced more in this section, like the similarities between Monet's and the narrator's journeys to Kitum Cave. It can also compare to the first section of the book, because they are both very detailed in landscape description(majority of part 4!) I found it neat that Marburg can last days in water while AIDS can only last a few minutes outside of incubation. It was a strange idea to say that the viruses are kind of here to hunt people, due to over-population. It's strange to see yourself as a parasite to the earth, and that it wants to kill you.(weird thought!) The ending was creepy, how all the wildlife was alive in the deserted Reston building, and saying that the virus would be back; the building reminded me of Kitum Cave.

  1. I also thought it was crazy how Marburg could last days in water while AIDS can only last a few minutes outside of incubation! Viruses are hear to hunt people but its just there form of survival. Totally not saying that that makes it okay though! Im glad that there are tons that are also hear to help us too though!
