dominant and recessive phenotype



In these geranium plants, white flowers (like the one on the left) are recessive; the flowers are only white if both genes that control flower color are for white flowers. Pink flowers (like the plant on the right) are dominant; if the gene for pink flowers is present in a plant, the plant will have pink flowers (the pink gene will be the visible one)
