Hot Zone Reading Part 3

In this third reading of the Hot Zone I learned that viruses can easily change and mutate into much more easily spread or deadly things. This is a very frightening thought, that the most deadly virus in the world can become spread through the air now and caught as easily as the flu.  The scientists then compared this virus to a mutant frankenstein virus, an ebola virus mixed with the common flu that could easily wipe out a population.  This thouht is just mind blowing that such a small thing can obliterate the human race.  Then in the reading the author tells us that the army must be wary with these viruses because of how they could be used in warfare.  The thought of these being used in warfare against other human beings is scary.  I would never wish these viruses on a another person.  A few questions I still have is what would have happened if this monkey virus did contract to humans?  Would our society be much more aware of what these tiny monsters can do?  How would our government respond to try and contain this?
