I still have to say that this is a good book. It has been really hard putting this book down at times.I was sure that some catastrophic event was going to occur at or because of the monkey house. I was surprised when no humans were infected at all with Ebola. I thought that monkey that got out was going to attack someone and then they would get the virus. While reading I felt bad that Nancy's dad died and she couldn't be therewith him when he passed on.
In this section I learned how much security, time, and patience goes into the process of killing the infected monkeys and then decontaminating the building. To think that this actually happens and isn't made up is mind blowing.
I wonder how this book will end, if no humans got infected? What triggers an outbreak? Why was this strain so different from others in the way it didn't infect humans who came in contact with it? I guess I have to keep reading.
I agree, I too couldn't believe that none of the humans became infected.
ReplyDeleteWhen I began part three I was intrigued to learn what would happen at the monkey house and also thought that an outbreak among humans was bound to happen.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on The Hot Zone being a great book and hard to put down. I couldn't believe that Jarling and Geisbert were not infected with the virus either. Also, I was thinking the same kind of questions.
ReplyDeleteI am also shocked that none of the humans have been infected and I have also wondered how the book will end.
