Autotroph
An organism capable of providing nourishment for
itself by using inorganic materials as a source of nutrients, and
photosynthesis or chemo-synthesis as a source of energy.
Exoskeleton
These ants have an
exoskeleton which is an external covering or membrane protecting itself from harmful species and environments.
Cuticle
The outer layer of the
arthropod membrane that has no cells. It is made of chitin and protein, also containing
other hardening materials.
Spore
A walled, single too many
celled reproductive body of an organism, with the abilities of creating a new
individual either directly or indirectly.
Rhizome
These radishes have a rhizome which is a root like
subterranean that usually produces roots below and also creates shoots gradually
from the upper surface of the plant.
