Cambium

Cambium is the meristematic plant tissue that produces new cells on both sides of it. Cambium is present as a thin layer, and in this picture you can see it where the bark has been peeled away. The cambium produces the cells (both xylem and phloem) that cause the tree's trunk to grow.
