Hot Zone Part 4

I found the Fourth part of the Hot Zone to be dissapointing, all though I liked the book overall.
I was hoping in part four, that they would find the source of the Marburg virus in Kitum cave.  I felt that all they really did was go back in the cave and look around, which already happened earlier in the book.  Although, I did learn more about Kitum Cave, and was suprised when water was found in the cave.  I didn't know a whole ecosystem could take place in a seemingly empty cave.  Some questions I have are where did Marburg actually come from in the cave? And is Marburg alive in organisms or is it in the walls of the caves? And how long will it take until Marburg comes back to infect humans?

  1. Ya the only really disappointing thing was that they didn't find a source to the Marburg virus. I was hoping they would from the start..

  2. Yes, I agree. They never answer the question of "where is the source?". Then again, the book was published in 1994 it looks like from the third page or something so maybe they have discovered the source after all, it has been 16 years!!
