Suspenseful at times, stomach-turning at others.
I feel sad about the elephants that died to get salt, but where were the men in the machine gun nest when Richard Preston went into the cave? Was he able to enter peacefully?
Did Preston find a Hot Virus in the cave? Did he contract a virus?
Hmm, I didn't even think of that. I mean, the author goes on and on about violence in the area and talked about men with machine guns waiting for elephants, but the men with guns by the cave mouth weren't mentioned either when Preston went into the cave or earlier in the book when Gene Johnson led the expedition into the cave. If there's so many hunters, where are they when people want to get into the cave? I don't think, however, that Preston got a virus, because he was able to publish this book about his experience, so he must still be alive (at least at the time the book was published)
