Lichen: This is me standing next to lichen, which is on the rock.  Lichen commonly grow on rocks and trees.

Gymnosperm cone: These gymnosperm cones are important in the reproduction of trees and plants that do not flower or create fruit to protect the seeds, as the cone contains the seeds.

Gymnosperm leaf: The leaves on gymnosperms are small and needle like, which is what one of the leaves in this picture is.  In this picture they are connected to a branch that fell off of a tree.

Succession: The baby ducks will succeed their parents, as they will perform the same role that the parents had, during and after the parents can no longer do it.

Taxis: Sunflowers are a great example of taxis, as they move so that that they face a stimulus (sunlight.)
