HOT ZONE PART 4

This section of the book was short and pertained little to the story. It didn't wrap anything up, it didn't make me want to read more, it was just sorta there. The book ended with a whimper. How lame is that? I would say that there's gonna be a sequel, but not if this was a non-fiction story. So, I don't really know what to make of the section. It introduced a BA hunter guy. It had a reappearance of Kitum Cave. It answered none of the questions about the virus. And it was short. I think it was unnecessary and made me think poorly of the rest of the book.

  1. I couldn't disagree more! I thought it was a lovely ending to the book. It might not have been EXACTLY a part of part 1, 2, and 3, BUT it tied all three parts together because the AUTHOR was the one in the end who ended up going to kitum cave and the monkey house to get a first hand look at all the different places that the viruses are at and once were apart of. Also, the ending was actually great because it leaves you thinking. Ebola and Marburg(plus all the other viruses are still around) and there could be an outbreak at any given time(actually Mrs. F sent a link in our email showing that an outbreak just happened recently!) so by him saying "It will be back." gives you room to appreciate and reflect on all the people's past stories, his own, and future stories to come. There is a lot still unknown about some of these viruses! That, at least in my eyes, was the whole point of the end of the book. :) I liked it a lot!
