A.P. Biology
August 17 Scavenger Hunt
Coevolution: The evolution between to two or more species as they adapt to each other in order to survive. This baby turtle, Abraham, was saved from being squished by a car by my friend, Jenna, who now has to adapt to taking care of him at the same time Abraham now has to adapt to his new environment and learn to survive in his new habitat.

Calvin Cycle: Carbon Dioxide is captured in a cycle of reactions in the Calvin Cycle. Rice is part of this cycle.
Cellular Respiration: The process by which cells withdraw energy found in sources of food to produce ATP. This plant does this.
Cambium: The single layer between the xylem and the phloem. This is visible on tree stumps, even though it's pretty hard to see in this picture... It is still there (the lighting was terrible, I apologize)
CAM Plant: A plant that utilizes the Crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) as an adaptation for arid conditions. CO2 entering the stomata during the night is converted into organic acids, which release CO2 for the Calvin Cycle during the day, when the stomata are closed
