Items Due For July 13th

Introduced Species: The house sparrow is a species of bird that is not native to America. It was brought over from Europe in the 19th century, and quickly established a large population.
Genetically Modified Organism:  The banana is an example of a genetically modified organism. The bananas that we eat have been genetically altered to be seedless, and to be sterile.
Amniotic Egg:  This is an amniotic egg. If this egg was not for human consumption, there would be a baby chicken growing inside it.
Endotherm: Endotherms are organisms that create their own body heat. My cat, Blaze, is an endotherm.
Pollen: This corn plant is currently producing pollen, the yellow stuff on its pollen creator.

Cuticle Layer of a Plant: The cuticle layer is a single layer of cells that protects plants from losing water and burning in the sun.
Pollinator:  This honeybee I found in my backyard in a pollinator. He was doing a very good job of this, and was pollinating my catmint bush when I found him.

Hot Zone: Part One.

I am a skeptic. I don't read books that don't look interesting to me. I was dreading reading The Hot Zone for this very reason. However, I can wholeheartedly say that I am pleasantly surprised.
The Hot Zone is a great book so far, and I have enjoyed it, to say the least. It was a bit scary at first, reading through the symptoms, while developing a cold, and the book is quite descriptive, but I have learned a great amount about the Ebola virus and how easily it spreads. It is an interesting book, and I have no questions as of yet, however, I can't wait to begin reading part two.
