CAM plant

CAM plant- a carbon fixation pathway that evolved in some plants as an adaptation to arid conditions
This pineapple is a CAM plant because of features, such as thick, reduced leaves with a low surface-area-to-volume ratio, thick cuticle, and stomata sunken into pits.
