3rd Scavenger Hunt Post

Ectotherm: is an organism in which internal physiological sources of heat are of relatively small or quite negligible importance in controlling body temperature. This frog is an ectotherm because it relies on the sun for its warmth.
Hermaphrodite: an organism that has reproductive organs normally associated with both male and female sexes. Hermaphrodites are commonly found in garden plants like this one.

Long- Day Plant: A long-day plant flowers when the day length exceeds their critical photoperiod. These plants typically flower in the northern hempisphere during late spring or early summer as days are getting longer.
Unicellular Organism: an organism that consists of only one cell. Most unicellular organisms are microscopic, but in this case the bacteria growing on the cheese is visible to the naked eye.
Connective Tissue: tissues that connect, binds, supports, or separates other tissues or organs. Connective tissue typically has relatively few cells embedded in an amorphous matrix, often with collagen or other fibers, and including cartilaginous, fatty, and elastic tissues

Lipid Used for Energy Storing: a broad group of naturally occurring molecules that include fats, waxes, sterols, fat-soluble vitamins, monoglycerides, diglycerides, triglycerides, phospholipids, and others. The main biological functions of lipids include energy storage.
